Andrews Lemek: Your Best Tax Preparation Partner

In a day when tax laws are becoming more and more complex, Andrews Lemek Tax Services, LLC, makes tax preparation a whole lot easier. Whether the client is a young adult who never filled out a tax form before or a homebound senior citizen who needs to have the paperwork picked up and delivered, Andrews Lemek Tax Service works closely with clients to make sure their needs are met.

In addition to maintaining a staff of highly trained professionals, the firm uses the latest in computer technology and was one of the first tax services in Marion County to file returns electronically.

In his work as a certified public accountant, Dan Andrews has come to believe that technology is the key to excellent service.

“We want to continue to use good technology to better serve our clients through the delivery of information, financial planning ideas and other financial needs,” Dan said. “We want to provide the best service for our clients, regardless of what phase of life they’re in, whether they’re just starting out, or if they’re senior citizens, or if they’re somewhere in the middle. We want to use the Internet to do that. That’s one of our priorities.”

A Successful Partnership Starts With Experience

Established through the partnership of Dan Andrews and Joyce Lemek, Andrews Lemek Tax Services grew out of Lemek Tax Services, Inc., a 30-year firm that evolved into its current form after Dan Andrews bought into the business in 2008. The resulting union offers a multitude of services under one roof. In addition to handling more individual income tax returns than any other independently owned firm in Marion County, Andrews Lemek Tax Services also prepares returns for estates, trusts and partnerships.

Andrews Lemek is more than a tax service. Clients who are setting up a new business can benefit from consultations regarding business structure, sales taxes, unemployment tax registrations, and the use of computerized accounting systems.

Both Dan and Joyce are longtime residents of Marion County. A 1980 Forest High School graduate, Dan also earned an associate’s degree at CFCC, plus two bachelor’s degrees and a master’s degree, all in finance and accounting subjects at Florida State University in Tallahassee. After working for a big accounting firm in Atlanta, Dan moved back to Ocala in 1994 and worked for a couple firms here.

It didn’t take long for Dan to want to join forces with Joyce Lemek, an enrolled agent who has acquired many years of experience in the tax service business in Marion County since the mid-1970s.

“I was looking for an accounting business to buy, and I walked in one day and made a cold call to her,” Dan recalled. “She’s the real mover and shaker behind the business and always has been. I am younger and I look to her as a mentor and someone on whose experience I can draw to help me serve my clients better. We bounce ideas off each other. We share experiences with each other so it will be much better than if we were working on our own.”

We Provide You the Personal Touch

The fact that they are both longtime residents of Marion County makes their relationship with clients more personal.

“We know our clients very well,” said Dan. “We sit in the pews in church with them every Sunday. We’re involved in our community. That’s why people should do business with us instead of the national chains.”

During the busy tax season, the service brings in nine fully trained employees. With the end of the two-year Bush tax cut looming on the horizon, Dan expects next year will bring some complex changes to the federal tax code. But it won’t be anything the firm can’t handle.

“We’re just going to continue to adapt to the changes in our industry, so that we can continue to serve our customers the best way we can,” said Dan. “We’re going to continue to upgrade our systems and our knowledge of the ever increasing tax codes.”
